WTMP: "Who Touched My Phone?" — Catch the Spy in Your House

WTMP: "Who Touched My Phone?" — Catch the Spy in Your House

You leave your phone on the charger in the TV lounge and go to the washroom. When you come back, it’s slightly moved. You suspect your younger brother (or your suspicious spouse) checked your WhatsApp. You ask, "Mera phone chera tha?" (Did you touch my phone?) They swear, "Nahi yaar, kasam le lo." (No man, I swear.)

Stop arguing. Catch them red-handed. There is a brilliant app called WTMP (Who Touched My Phone). Unlike other anti-theft apps that sound a loud alarm, this one runs silently in the background. If someone unlocks your phone (or even tries to), it uses the front camera to take a secret selfie of them.

But there is a major problem for Pakistani users: On our favorite budget phones like Infinix, Tecno, and Xiaomi, this app stops working after 1 hour because of aggressive "Battery Optimization." If you have ever searched for wtmp who touched my phone not working, this is the reason.

Here is the complete guide to installing, setting up, and keeping it running permanently on your device.

How WTMP Works (The Silent Trap)

Most anti-theft apps are loud. They start singing "WEE WOO WEE WOO" if someone touches the phone. That’s annoying and lets the intruder know they are caught. wtmp who touched my phone is a silent trap.

  1. You turn it on before sleeping or showering.

  2. Someone picks up your phone and unlocks it.

  3. The app waits for the screen to wake up.

  4. CLICK. It takes a photo instantly without flash, shutter sound, or any notification.

  5. It saves the photo with the Date & Time inside the app.

  6. You come back, check the report, and show them the photo. Pakra gaya! (Caught you!)

Step 1: Download the Right App

There are many fakes on the Play Store that are full of ads. You need the original version that is trusted by millions.

Step 2: The Critical Setup (Don't Skip This!)

If you have a Samsung or Pixel, it usually works out of the box. But if you have an Infinix, Tecno, Redmi, or Oppo, you MUST change these settings. These phones have a "Phone Master" or "Battery Lab" that kills background apps to save battery.

For Infinix / Tecno Users (XOS / HiOS):

You need to whitelist the app in your system settings.

  1. Go to Settings > App Management > App List.

  2. Find WTMP.

  3. Tap Battery > Background Restriction > select "Remove Restriction" (or "Allow Background Activity").

  4. Lock it in RAM: Open your Recent Apps (the square button at the bottom). Find the WTMP card and tap the small Lock Icon (padlock) on the top right. This tells the phone," Never close this app." (See official guide on Carlcare Support).

For Xiaomi / Redmi Users (MIUI):

  1. Long-press the WTMP icon > App Info.

  2. Tap Battery Saver > select "No Restrictions".

  3. Go to Autostart and turn it ON.

Step 3: Check the Evidence

Next time you leave your phone, open WTMP and press the big Power Button icon in the app. It will turn green. Now lock your phone. When you come back:

  1. Unlock your phone.

  2. Open WTMP.

  3. Stop the monitoring.

  4. You will see a list of reports. Tap one to see the Photo of the person and a list of Apps they opened (e.g., "Opened WhatsApp at 4:02 PM").

Important Privacy Note

This app saves photos locally on your phone. It does not send them to the cloud. However, if you are worried about apps having camera access, you can check our guide on Best Privacy Apps to learn how to block camera access when you don't need it.

Also, be careful not to download fake versions that might steal your data. Always check our Online Earning Scams guide to recognize fake apps.

Final Verdict

  • Is it safe? Yes, the original version linked above is safe.

  • Does it drain the battery? A little bit, because it stays awake in the background. I recommend turning it off when you have your phone in your pocket.

  • Best feature: It shows which apps the intruder opened. So you know if they just checked the time or read your WhatsApp chats.

If you are facing lag while this app is running, it might be because your phone is overheating. Check out our PUBG Lag Fix Guide to learn how to cool down your phone.
